the holland festival Parade
Parade Route info: NEW FOR 2023
Due to the construction at the elementary school, the staging for the Parade has been changed. Due to the the staging change the Parade route will also change. The Parade will begin on 2nd & Union street and will progress south to Wisconsin Ave where it will turn left toward Main Street. The parade will then continue north on Main St and end at Union.
All of you who are used to the parade ending on 2nd street will now be enjoying it first.
Now you know where to put your lawn chairs!!! Enjoy the show.
We have an “unusual” parade
The Holland Festival parade is an unusual one. Every year we are asked when the parade begins….
Well, we begin our Saturday afternoon activities with an honor to our Dutch Heritage; Our Burgermeister and Town Crier declare the streets dirty, we spend some time scrubbing the streets (which is adorable to watch) and after the Burgermeister declares them clean our Kinder Klossers and Klompen Dansers entertain.
This year we will have the Kinder Klossers beginning on the north side of Main Street and working their way to the south. Simultaneously the Klompen Dansers will begin on the south end of Main street and dance north. Our Stage Dansers will perform for the crowd in front of the First Reformed Church.
NEW FOR 2023: While the Dansers are entertaining the crowds on Main Street the Parade will be starting on 2nd Street.
No entrance to the parade route is allowed from 1 pm to the end of the parade.
